2 Timothy 3:16-17

I. We are driven to study the Bible when we understand the GIFT of the Scripture. (16a)
A. The MOUTH that gave the Gift.
B. The MAGNITUDE of the Gift.
II. We are driven to study the Bible when we understand the GAIN of Scripture. (16b)
A. Through the Scripture we gain an understanding of WHAT IS RIGHT. (DOCTRINE)
B. Through the Scripture we gain an understanding of WHAT IS NOT RIGHT. (REPROOF)
C. Through the Scripture we gain an understanding of HOW TO GET RIGHT. (CORRECTION)
D. Through the Scripture we gain an understanding of HOW TO STAY RIGHT. (INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS)
III. We are driven to study the Bible when we understand the GOAL of Scripture. (17)
A. The goal of the Scripture is to move us to Spiritual MATURATION.
B. The goal of the Scripture is to move us to Practical MOBILIZATION.
